Maria Prusakova (politician)

Maria Nikolayevna Prusakova (born 4 September 1983) is a Russian politician, who serves as a member of the State Duma since 2021.

Biography

A member of the Communist Party, she was elected to represent the Rubtsovsk constituency in the 2021 Russian legislative election, becoming one of the few people to have defeated a candidate of the ruling United Russia party in constituency seats.[1]

In her capacity as a member of parliament, she was placed on the sanctions list of the United Kingdom in relation to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Prusakova has been considered as a possible candidate for her party in the 2024 Russian presidential election.[2]
