Martin Ferreira

Martin Ferreira (born 24 January 1989) is a South African rugby union player, who most recently played Currie Cup rugby with Western Province.[1] His regular position is hooker.

Career

Youth and amateur

He represented Eastern Province at the 2005 Under-16 Grant Khomo Week and 2007 Under-18 Craven Week tournaments. He joined the Free State Cheetahs in 2008 and played for the Free State U19 side in 2008 and the Free State U21 side in 2011.

He was also a member of the UFS Shimlas squad for the 2010 Varsity Cup competition, but failed to make an appearance. He did however play in that competition for the NMMU Madibaz, making 28 appearances between 2011 and 2014.

SWD Eagles

He was included in the SWD Eagles squad for the 2011 Currie Cup First Division and made his debut in a compulsory friendly against the Sharks.[2] He made eight starts and one substitute appearance in the competition proper, scoring three tries.

He returned to the SWD Eagles for the 2013 Currie Cup First Division season.[3]

Eastern Province Kings

In 2014, he linked up with the Eastern Province Kings prior to the 2014 Currie Cup Premier Division season.[4]

He was included in the Southern Kings Super Rugby squad for the 2016 Super Rugby season.[5]
