Midtown (quartet)

Midtown is a Manhattan-based barbershop quartet that won the International Quartet Championship for 2023 at the Barbershop Harmony Society's annual international convention, in Louisville, Kentucky.[1] Their set included "Spider-Farm", a comic medly of their 2019 hit "Spider-Man",[2] and the parody song "Old MacDonald's Deformed Farm", originally by Lunch Break.[3] Midtown had ranked second behind Quorum in the 2022 international convention.[4]

In 2018, Midtown won the BHS Mid-Atlantic District quartet contest.[5] In 2020, Midtown's "Spider-Man Theme" music video won Best Music Video at the inaugural BHS Awards.[6]

Tenor singer Nick Gordon from Ohio has degrees from Bowling Green State University and New York University. He formerly sang Baritone in Quorum and had three top-ten international finishes with them.[7] Lead singer Anthony Fortino from Kansas has degrees from Texas Christian University. He formerly sang with the Heart of America Chorus and was in the National Tour cast of Fun Home. Baritone singer KJ McAleesejergins is an army vocalist for the Army National Guard and former member of the comedy quartet Lunch Break whose highest international ranking was 9th in 2014.[8] Bass singer Christian Diaz is from Florida and has a degree from Western Michigan University. He also performs with Voices of Liberty and The Dapper Dans.[9]
