Mowmenabad, Sorkheh

Mowmenabad (Persian: مومن آباد, also Romanized as Mowmenābād and Mow’menābād; also known as Mo’menābād and Muminābād)[3] is a village in Momenabad Rural District of Hafdar District, Sorkheh County, Semnan province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,826 in 499 households, when it was in Hafdar Rural District of the former Sorkheh District of Semnan County.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 1,823 people in 524 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,796 people in 585 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county to establish Sorkheh County. It was the largest village in its rural district.[2]

After the census, Hafdar Rural District was separated from the Central District to establish Hafdar District, with two rural districts and no cities. At the same time, Emamzadeh Abdollah Rural District was established in the Central District.[6]
