Nadine Ames

Nadine Alexandra Dewi Ames (born 23 May 1991) is an Indonesian actress and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2010 and represented her country in the 2011 Miss Universe pageant, but was unplaced.

In this article, the surname is Ames, her English patronymic surname; Dewi is her Javanese matronymic surname.

Early life

Ames was born in Winchester, England.[1] Her family moved to Jakarta when she was two months old. She spent most of her childhood in Jakarta, attending the North Jakarta International School and Gandhi Memorial International School,[2] she also took modelling course at the OQ Modelling School, Kelapa Gading which lead to her appearance in the Indonesian soap opera Inikah Cinta.[3][4][5] She is fluent in English, French and Indonesian.[6]

Puteri Indonesia 2010 and Miss Universe 2011

Ames, who stands 1.71 m (5 ft 7+1⁄2 in),[2] competed as the representative of Jakarta SCR 4,[7] winning Indonesia's's national beauty pageant, Puteri Indonesia 2010, in Jakarta on 8 October 2010.[4] Ames represented Indonesia in the 2011 Miss Universe pageant,[5] in São Paulo, Brazil on 12 September 2011, but was unplaced.[8][4][5][9]
