Nasir and Junaid lynching

On 15 February 2023, 25-year-old Nasir and 35 Year old Junaid were allegedly kidnapped by Bajrang Dal members who are known as Gau Rakshak on suspicion of cow smuggling in Nuh district of Haryana, India.[1] They were brutally beaten, then put in a car and burnt alive.[2] They died hand in hand on the spot. The incident came to light after photos of the lynching went viral on the social media.[3] The police investigating the case later dropped murder charges against the accused Bajrang Dal members.[4][5] Nasir and Junaid belonged to Ghatmika village of Bharatpur district of Rajasthan.[6][7]

Accused and arrest

One of the accused was arrested by Haryana Police on February 17, 2023.[8]

Two accused were arrested by the Rajasthan police on April 14, 2023.[9]

On 12 September 2023, Monu Manesar, the main accused, was arrested by Haryana police.[10][11] [12]

Condemnation

At the Haryana Legislative Assembly

The issue of Lynching was shouted at the Haryana Legislative Assembly by the Member of Legislative Assembly from the Nuh Assembly constituency, Aftab Alam.[13][14]

At the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly

The issue was raised by the Member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from the Ramgarh Assembly constituency, Shafia Zubair. She said when Hindus and Muslims are descendants of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna then why we are making differences.[15]

Another Member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from the Jaipur Assembly constituency, Rafique Khan raised the issue and state that It is an organised crime.[15]

Mamman Khan a Member of Legislative Assembly from Firozpur Jhirka also raised the issue and stated opponents are planning for my assassination because i raised the issue.

Congress Politician and Member of Legislative Assembly Wajib Ali raised his voice on the issue against the Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot.[16]

Former Chief Minister, Bhupendra Singh Hudda asked for the CBI Investigation over this crime.[17]

Other politicians

Former Finance Minister and Congress politician, Captain Ajay Singh Yadav and former Member of Haryana Legislative Assembly, Habibur Rahman asked for the CBI investigation to start as soon as possible.[18]

Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi visited Nasir and Junaid house[19] and stated that the Murders are trying of built Hindu Rashtra.[20] He helped an amount of 1 lakh 50 thousands to each to them.[21] He accused that the Car used for Kidnapping was of Haryana Government.[22]

Villagers and family

The residents of the village Ghatmika were totally anguished and they stated that The Congress Party are failing them, they're not helping them.[23]

Sajida, the wife of Junaid stated that: "My Children have no future, Muslims have no rights in this country."[24] Her 12 and half year old daughter said that "My father was burnt alive and the person did this should be treated in the same way."[24]

Sarda Begum, sister of Nasir said that "He was the nicest person in the village."[25]

The cousins of Junaid and Nasir agitated against the police and asked for arresting of the accused.[26][27][28]
