Pakhtas

Pakthas or Pakhtas was an ancient Vedic Indo-Aryan tribe[1] living in the northwestern part of South Asia (modern Pakistan and Afghanistan).[2] They are considered to be one of the possible ancestors of modern Pakhtun people.[2] They are identified with Pactyans by Herodotus.[3]
