At the 2006 National Census, its population (as Zavkuh Rural District of the Central District) was 23,610 in 4,863 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 26,409 people in 6,529 households, by which time the rural district had been separated from the district in the establishment of Pishkamar District.[4] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 26,977 inhabitants in 7,394 households.[2]
