The Politécnico de Leiria - Polytechnic University provides quality training geared towards the labor market in the areas of Arts and Design, Science and Technology of the Sea, Business and Legal Sciences, Education and Social Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Health and Sports, and Tourism. With a universe of about 14,500 students, the Polytechnic of Leiria promotes 45 degrees, more than 80 master's and postgraduate courses, two doctoral programs in association and 54 professional higher technical courses (TeSP).
Leader of the European university Regional University Network (RUN-EU), the Polytechnic of Leiria intends to contribute to the reinforcement of the European identity supported by innovation and knowledge, highlighting pedagogical innovation, flexible curricular paths, short courses that promote requalification and advanced qualification, as well as the creation of European Degrees.
The Polytechnic of Leiria is characterized by its multicultural environment, making it possible to share experiences with students, professors and researchers from the four corners of the world. More than 1,700 students from 75 nationalities attend the Polytechnic of Leiria.

IPL’s campus
Campus 1 In IPL's Campus 1, there is the School of Education and Social Sciences (ESECS) which develops its training activity in the areas of Human and Social Sciences, Communication and Teacher Training, Sports, Translation and Interpretation on Chinese/Portuguese, among others (3000 Students approximately)
Campus 2 Campus 2 of IPL is based in Leiria. It consists of two schools: the School of Technology and Management (ESTG) and the School Of Health Sciences (ESSLei).
The ESTG offers courses in the areas of engineering and technology and of entrepreneurial and juridical sciences. It is a school recognized for the quality of the education provided and for its strong connection to the enterprise world, not only from the Leiria and West region but also on a national level. The school is attended by approximately 6.500 students.
The School of Health Sciences (ESSLei) was integrated in IPL in 2001 and has been intended for the training of nurses and it is predicted that in the next academic year it will widen its training offer to other areas of Health Sciences. It is attended by approximately 1200 students.
Campus 3 Campus 3 of IPL is situated in Caldas da Rainha, approximately 60 kilometers South of Leiria. The School of Fine Arts and Design (ESAD.CR) is located in this city, a thermal city that has a vast artistic patrimony. It is a prestigious school in terms of training and art in the areas of Art and Design, having been acknowledged with various national and international awards received by students and teachers. Attended by approximately 1.750 students, ESAD.CR privileges teaching methodologies focused on personal development, creativity and project implementation, stimulating the spirit of initiative.
Campus 4 The School of Tourism and Maritime Technology (ESTM) is located in IPL's Campus 4, in Peniche (80 kilometers South of Leiria). This school with approximately 2.150 students is especially aimed at the training in the area of Tourism, Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Food Engineering.
Campus 5 In Campus 5, in Leiria, it is located the Health Innovation Hub and the Social Innovation Hub. This is a space for research and knowledge sharing, used by professors and researchers of the Polytechnic and also by health professionals at the Hospital Centre of Leiria (CHL). Another feature of the Health Innovation Hub is its integration in the facilities of the ciTechCare (Center for Innovative Care and Health Technologies), a research unit that has developed innovative solutions in the area of health and disease prevention. Entitled Leiria Social Innovation Hub, the project, in which the Polytechnic of Leiria is a social investor, has the mission, from its headquarters on campus 5, to develop conditions for access to knowledge that can generate networks of partnerships and social transformation. The central idea is to maximize the creation and replication of new solutions for the social and environmental challenges that the country currently faces.
