This show is produced by Radaan Mediaworks, with Raadhika Sarathkumar as the Creative Head n Producer.

A sequel series of Vani Rani, it premiered on 27 June 2022 on Kalaignar TV at 20:00 and airs from Monday to Saturday. [1][2] The show stars Preethi Sanjiv and Manohar Krishnan in lead roles and Raadhika Sarathkumar[3] comes back into television playing her pivotal dual role of Vani & Rani from the 2013 series.

Production

Development - Overview

After leaving from Sun TV,[4] Radaan Mediaworks’ and Raadhika Sarathkumar decided to begin telecasting serials on other channels. Firstly, Kalaignar TV.[5] The shooting of this serial Ponni C/O Rani on Kalaignar TV commenced in March 2022. The first promo was released on 4 May 2022. This marks Raadhika’s return to television after a small hiatus.

Casting - Overview

  • Preethi Sanjiv, Manohar Krishnan and Raadhika Sarathkumar were cast for leading.
  • A.Ravivarma, Shankaresh, Nancy, Hema, Raghavi, Vetrivelan, Dhachayani and Shri Akila were cast for supporting.
  • Aruljothi Arockiaraj and Arvind Kathare were playing supporting roles but were replaced by VJ Mounika and Birla Bose respectively.
  • Usha Elizabeth entered the show in the role Visalam while Dhachayani replaced VJ Thara for the role Pooja.
  • After Nancy quit the show, Sherin Jaanu replaced her. [6] However, she also left resulting in VJ Lavanya to play the role.
  • In March 2023, Actress Sasilaya joned the cast to play a titular villain role.
  • Later, Prabhakar and Vijayalakshmi entered the cast however Vijayalakshmi was replaced by S.N.Parvathy
  • In May 2023 Actress Keerthi joined the show as Bharathi, [7] followed by Actress Malar joining as Malli in August 2023. [8]

Vani Rani

A prequel series Vani Rani is the base story of this serial, Ponni C/O Rani. Vani Rani focuses on the story of the two sisters, Vani and Rani who are poles apart in nature and the way they face their problems in life. The show starred Raadhika Sarathkumar, Venu Arvind and Babloo Prithiveeraj in lead roles.
