Premium Times is a Nigerian online newspaper based in Abuja in the Federal Capital Territory. It was launched in 2011.[1] The online medium is notable for investigative journalism and Reports among other fields.

Awards and nominations

In 2013, Premium Times was nominated for the 'Website/blog of the year' award at the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Award.[2] In 2017, Premium Times reporters shared in the Pulitzer Prize for participating in the international consortium that investigated the Panama Papers, revealing corruption and offshore tax havens used by highly placed people.[3] In November 2017, Global Investigative Journalism Network announced that Premium Times was awarded Global Shining Light Award for the investigative work on the extrajudicial killings in Nigeria's South-East and How the Onitsha Massacre of Pro-Biafra supporters was coordinated.[4]

Winning of Lagos state governors award

September 2023, Premium times, won the lagos state governors award 2023 and commendation for gender senstive reportage. the award was presented at the dinner for Domestic and sexual violence agency's governo's award and commendation dinner, which held at whitestone event centre, Ikeja Lagos.[5]

The award is aimed to commend the news paper's commitment toward the reportage of gender sensetive, and gender violence imformation

September 2023, the Premium times announce their partnership with Business Day Newspaper. This is planned strategic synergy that will bring the two giant Press Organisation in joining force to provide a better result in their contents.
