Qarah Aghaj-e Pain (Persian: قره اغاج پائين, also Romanized as Qarah Āghāj-e Pā’īn; also known as Qarah Āghājlū-ye Pā’īn)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Angut-e Gharbi Rural District of the Central District of Ungut County, Ardabil province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 738 in 168 households, when it was in the former Angut District of Germi County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 761 people in 193 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 720 people in 207 households.[2] After the census, the district was separated from the county to establish Ungut County.[4]
