Qarshi University

Qarshi University (QU) (Urdu:قرشی یونیورسٹی) is a project of Qarshi Foundation; a non-profit welfare organization funded by the Qarshi family. Following the footsteps of Qarshi Foundation, the ethos of community welfare also pulsates throughout the structures of Qarshi University. It was established in 2011. It is recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.[1] It was a solemn commitment by the Qarshi Foundation not to utilize the revenue stream generated by enrolling students and gradually build the necessary infrastructure. Being a not for profit organization the University aims to serve the nation by providing scientific and humanistic knowledge through research and interdisciplinary approaches. To this end it aims at forming intellectually competent graduates:

• Who are morally sound, committed to acting justly and open to further growth.
• Who appreciates freedom of expression, imbibe right attitudes and ideologies gained through a carefully integrated curriculum of Ethics, Science and Business Management.
• Who achieves academic excellence through hard work, analytical thinking and effective decision making.

Qarshi University's mission is to deliver education to masses at competitive cost. The Chairman of Qarshi university is Mr. Iqbal Ahmad Qarshi. His premise is not only providing education but also inculcate skills in our students. He always advocates for educating young people with high quality education and never thought of making University a business venture. He says that if our country in educated then our nation will be educated and the only difference between developed countries & underdeveloped countries is the level of higher education. In today's competitive world only that nation will survive who will be ahead in knowledge & technology. He believes that our nation has full of resources, the thing which is deficient is the lack of education. For this purpose, Mr. Iqbal Qarshi has opened Qarshi University and provided the scholarships to its more than 62% of students during the course of their studies. He further believes that nobody would be stopped from education due to poverty or lack of funds. For this purpose, he has instructed that he would not like to see any body's admission to be turned down due to lack of money. [3]
