Qatar 1812 km

The Qatar 1812 km is an endurance race for sports cars held at the Losail International Circuit in Lusail, Qatar. It will be opening round of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship.

History

On 12 December 2022, the race was announced that Losail International Circuit will host FIA World Endurance Championship from 2024 with 6-year contract, and it was also announced that the circuit will be the opener of 2024 season.[1] The circuit will also host The Prologue in 2024, and the race was announced as 6 Hours of Qatar firstly.[2]

The race name was changed as announced Qatar 1812 km, at the Automobile Club de l'Ouest press conference ahead of the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans.[3] The race length of 1812 km is derived from the date of Qatar National Day, 18 December, and it will have a time limit of 10 hours.[4] The first Qatar 1812 km will be held on 2 March 2024.
