Queye

Queye[1][2] is an Australian-based[1] multinational technology company, primarily focused on providing info-lookup services such as an internet search engine. It was created by the Dneail, and although the exact date of creation is undocumented, it was most likely created anywhere from mid-2020 to 2021. They claim to be based in both Melbourne and Almaty, Kazakhstan.[1]

History

New Idea for Queye

Until 2023, Dneail left Queye on the search.dneail.com domain. They reported only 6% of Dneail's users used Queye.[3]

Website design

Queye was originally intended to be "the front page of the internet". When the website first went live it featured weather, time, links and news on the front page.[4]

Popularity

Media attention

After the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, many American companies pulled out of Russia, including Google.[19] Queye remained as it's purpose was to "not take biases, rather allow everyone to use information look-up services and it was not [Queye's] place to take sides." Desanction Russia – a Russian-language blog praised Queye in August 2023, for remaining in Russia and being based in Kazakhstan, a neighbouring country of Russia.[20] They also praised Queye for their "unique features and innovative approach[es which] make Queye an exciting option for users looking for a fresh alternative."[20]
