Rachel Allessya Rose

Rachel Allessya Rose (born 30 June 2004) is an Indonesian badminton player. She was part of Indonesia squad that won a bronze medal in the 2022 World Junior Championships and a silver medal in the girls' doubles event.[1][2]

Career

2022

Rose and her partner Meilysa Trias Puspita Sari made their Asian Championships debut in April, where they lost to Yuki Fukushima and Sayaka Hirota in the first round.[3] In May, Rose and her partner won their first senior title at the Slovenian International.[4] They also made a surprise win at the Indonesia Masters against experienced Indian pair Ashwini Ponnappa and N. Sikki Reddy in the first round,[5] before bowing out to world no. 1 Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan in the second round.[6]

Rose and Puspita Sari participated at the World Junior Championships as the second seeds in the individual event, but lost to Liu Shengshu and Wang Tingge in the final.[7]

2023

In January, Rose and Puspita Sari competed at the home tournament, Indonesia Masters, but had to lose in the first round from American pair Francesca Corbett and Allison Lee.[8] In the next tournament, they lost in the second round of the Thailand Masters from Chinese pair Li Wenmei and Liu Xuanxuan.[9]

In March, Rose and Puspita Sari competed in the Swiss Open but had to lose in the qualifying round from new Japanese pair Sayaka Hobara and Yui Suizu.[10] In the next tour, they reached the Spain Masters quarter-finals, but had to lose to Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning.[11]

In April, Rose and Puspita Sari competed at the Orléans Masters in France, but had to lose in the second round from English pair Chloe Birch and Lauren Smith.[12] In late April, they competed at the Asian Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, but had to lose in the second round from 1st seed Chinese pair Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan.[13]

In May, Rose made her debut at the SEA Games in Cambodia, and took the silver medals in the women's doubles and team.[14][15] In late May, they competed in the second Asian Tour at the Malaysia Masters. Unfortunately, they lost in the first round from 7th seed Japanese pair Mayu Matsumoto and Wakana Nagahara in straight games.[16] In the next tour, they competed in the Thailand Open, but lost in the first round for second consecutive tournament, this time from Malaysian pair Vivian Hoo and Lim Chiew Sien in rubber games.[17]

In June, Puspita Sari and Rose competed at the Singapore Open, but lost in the first round for third consecutive tournament, this time from 3rd seed Chinese pair Zhang Shuxian and Zheng Yu.[18] In the next tour, they competed at the home tournament, Indonesia Open, but lost in the second round from 3rd seed Chinese pair Zhang Shuxian and Zheng Yu for two consecutive tour.[19] In the next tour, they lost at the second round of the Taipei Open from 5th seed Korean pair Shin Seung-chan and Lee Yu-lim.[20]

In September, Puspita Sari and Rose competed at the Indonesia Masters Super 100 I but lost at the quarter-finals from 7th seed Indian player Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa in rubber games.[21]

BWF World Tour

The BWF World Tour, which was announced on 19 March 2017 and implemented in 2018,[22] is a series of elite badminton tournaments sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). The BWF World Tours are divided into levels of World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, Super 300, and the BWF Tour Super 100.[23]
