History

The station was originally established in 1909. In 1924, the station building was reconstructed with a bigger building on the same place. This station ceased operations on 28 April 2021 and was temporarily replaced by the Segamat Temporary Railway Station located 3.7 km (2.3 mi) away. The old station will be demolished to make way for a new station to be constructed as part of the Gemas-Johor Bahru Double Tracking and Electrification Project.[1] As of October 2023, the new station is already completed, with KTMB currently testing the station's internal and external lighting, passenger announcement and information systems, as well as the station's signalling. However due to the relatively slow progress of the electrified double-tracking project at the moment, the new station's launching is expected to be delayed until 2024.However trains now can pass through the station.
