Shae Cahill

Shae Cahill (born 26 April 2005) is an English footballer currently playing for Brisbane Roar. He is the son of Tim Cahill, a former Australian international.

Club career

Youth

Cahill began training at Finch Farm with the Everton Academy when he was 11 years old. He officially joined the academy in 2019, when he was 14 years old.[1]

In the 2021–22 season, he made four appearances for Everton's U18 team in the U18 Premier League, starting just one of those games. In the 2022–23 season, he was promoted to the U18 team and made nine appearances, managing three assists.[2]

At the conclusion of the 2022–23 season, Cahill was released by Everton.[3]

Senior

On 19 September 2023, A-League Men's club Brisbane Roar announced they had signed Cahill on a multi-year deal.[4]

International career

Cahill is eligible to represent either Australia, England and the USA but has not received a call-up from any national team at either youth or senior level.[5]

Personal life

Cahill is the son of Socceroos player Tim Cahill and nephew of Samoan former internationals Sean Cahill and Chris Cahill.[6] His older brother Kyah Cahill (born 2003) is also a footballer and has represented Samoa at international level.
