Sonqorabad, Alborz

Sonqorabad (Persian: سنقرآباد, also Romanized as Sonqorābād)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Chahardangeh Rural District of the Central District of Chaharbagh County, Alborz province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,376 in 337 households, when it was in Ramjin Rural District of Chaharbagh District, Savojbolagh County, Tehran province.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,777 people in 564 households, by which time Savojbolagh County had become a part of the newly established Alborz province.[2]

Chaharbagh District was separated from the county on 16 December 2019 to become Chaharbagh County and divided into two districts: the Central District and Ramjin District.[5]
