Sorkhrud
Sorkhrud (Persian: سرخرود, also Romanized as Sorkhrūd, Sorkh Rūd, and Surkhrūd; also known as Sokhrun and Sorkhrūd-e Gharbī)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Sorkhrud District of Mahmudabad County, Mazandaran province, Iran.

At the 2006 census, its population was 6,569 in 1,841 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 5,921 people in 1,832 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 6,699 people in 2,248 households.[2]
