Svenja Heesch

Svenja Heesch is a botanist, algologist, biogeographer, curator and explorer, and is a specialist in the taxonomy of algae families.

She has participated in extensive botanical expeditions, sponsored by the Roscoff Biological Station, Brittany, where she develops her scientific and academic activities.[1][2][3]

In 2005 she completed her Ph.D. at the University of Otago, supervised by Akira Peters and Catriona Hurd.[4] Prior to this she had completed a diploma at the Institute of Marine Science, Kiel University.[5]
