Gameplay

Tempest Rising is a traditional real-time strategy game in which players build bases, collect resources, and field armies against opposing human players or the AI. Its gameplay is reminiscent of that of the Command & Conquer series and other RTS games of the 90s and 2000s.[3][4][5] Two factions, the GDF and the Tempest Dynasty, will be playable in the game's two campaigns, and a third faction has been confirmed to be available in multiplayer.[1]

Setting

The game takes place after a nuclear war that has left large chunks of Earth irradiated. Two factions, the GDF and the Tempest Dynasty, fight over the planet and a new energy source, the plant-like Tempest, which grows in irradiated areas of the planet.[1]

Development

Developer Slipgate Ironworks is based in Denmark.[6] THQ Nordic announced Tempest Rising on August 12, 2022.[2] A playable demo of the game was released in August 2023.[7]
