The Deliverance (film)

The Deliverance is an upcoming American supernatural horror thriller film directed by Lee Daniels and written by Daniels, Elijah Bynum and David Coggeshall. The film stars Andra Day with Mo'Nique, Glenn Close, Rob Morgan, Caleb McLaughlin, Aunjanue Ellis, Tasha Smith and Omar Epps. This film is based on the Latoya Ammons family possession.[1] The $65 million budget production will debut on Netflix.[2]

On January 24, 2022, it was reported that Lee Daniels would direct and Andra Day, Octavia Spencer, Glenn Close, Rob Morgan, Caleb McLaughlin and Aunjanue Ellis would star in the film.[1][3] On April 1, 2022, Mo'Nique, who last worked with Daniels in the 2009 film Precious, replaced Octavia Spencer in the role. They had not spoken in the 13 years since.[4][5] On April 14, 2022, Tasha Smith also was cast.[6] Omar Epps, Demi Singleton, Miss Lawrence, and Anthony B. Jenkins round out the cast.[7][8]

The film was shot in the summer of 2022 in Pittsburgh.[9]
