The Loch & The Tyne by Adam Handling is a restaurant, pub, and rooms owned by Adam Handling[1] and is located in the countryside of Old Windsor.[2] The Loch & The Tyne is awarded as the Best Destination Pub in Berkshire by the Muddy Stilettos awards 2023.[3][4][5] It was awarded 5 stars by AA in the Restaurant with Rooms category and was awarded 3 AA rosettes for its culinary excellence.[6] The Loch & the Tyne was most recently rated 9/10 by The Sunday Telegraph.[7] It was also awarded Best Pub for Food at the 2023 Great British Pub Awards.[8]

History

The restaurant and pub, with guest bedrooms, opened in May 2021. It is the sister restaurant of the Michelin star winner Frog by Adam Handling Restaurant Covent Garden; located at 34-35 Southampton St, London WC2E 7HG, United Kingdom[9][10] and Ugly Butterfly Restaurant and Bar in St. Ives, Cornwall.[11] The restaurant was created by Handling for co-chef proprietors Steven Kerr and Jonny McNeil, both of whom have worked with the chef for a number of years. The name represents where Handling first met Steven in 2008 in Newcastle and Jonny in 2010 in St. Andrews.[12][2][13][14]

The experience at The Loch & the Tyne by Adam Handling is rooted in Sustainable British luxury, offering traditional British food with British produce, including à la carte, tasting, Sunday lunch and children's menus, paired with a curated drinks list.[15][16][17] The site includes its own vegetable gardens, orchard, flowerbeds, and an area for composting biodegradable waste from the kitchen,[18] and ingredients are sourced locally from farmers markets, brands and producers.[19]
