Tori Dam (Afghanistan)

Tori Dam is an under-construction dam located about 4 km (2.5 mi) east of Qalat in Afghanistan, which is the capital of Zabul Province.[2] Construction of the dam is estimated to cost around 97 million afghanis.[3]

The width of the dam is said to be around 70 m (230 ft) and its length 25 m (82 ft). The reservoir will hold up to 2,900,000 m3 (100,000,000 cu ft) of drinking water. After completion, it will irrigate 600 acres of agricultural land. It will also be able to produce 100 kW (130 hp) of electricity.[1][4] Work on the project was originally prepared in May of 2021.[5]
