Tup Qarah, Zanjan

Tup Qarah (Persian: توپ قره, also Romanized as Tūp Qarah and Tūp Qareh; also known as Tupkarekh and Tūp Qarā’)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Tup Qarah Rural District of Do Tappeh District, Khodabandeh County, Zanjan province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,187 in 266 households, when it was in Howmeh Rural District of the Central District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,024 people in 298 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 890 people in 277 households.[2]

In 2019, the rural district was separated from the district in the establishment of Do Tappeh District, which was divided into two rural districts including the new Tup Qarah Rural District.[4]
