Plot summary
While torn between Callie Vernon and Jenny Humphrey, Easy Walsh ultimately pursues a relationship with Callie. Jenny and Callie make a pact to put their friendship before relationship with Easy in front of the whole school.
Brett Messerschmidt remains upset about her breakup with Jeremiah, and later fosters an unexpected relationship with Kara Whalen. After confiding in Heath Ferro, an inveterate gossip, Brett must bribe Heath with sexy pictures of her and Kara in order to keep their relationship private. As a result of this, the three become close.
Tinsley Carmichael hooks up with freshman Julian McCafferty. However, Tinsley finds Julian growing increasingly more distant, and she cannot accept he might be bored with her.
Brandon Buchanan, having moved on from his feelings for both Callie and Jennie, falls in love with Elizabeth, a unique and spunky girl who goes to Jeremiah's school. However, Elizabeth is afraid of being tied down to commitment and wants to be free to see other people, much to Brandon's discontent. At a party hosted by Tinsley, Brandon sees Elizabeth flirting with another guy and decides he is not able to have an open relationship with her.
Easy proclaims his love for Callie, and they sleep together in a barn while the party rages on. Jenny walks in on them and runs out of the barn before they see her, later finding Julian behind it. They talk and realize their feelings for each other, finally kissing. A fire, started in the barn by Tinsley throwing Julian's lighter away, interrupts the two. In the aftermath of the party, rumors regarding the start of the fire abound. When Jenny confronts Callie about what she saw, they both accuse each other of starting the fire.
Brett and Kara's secret relationship is exposed when an intoxicated Callie lets the secret slip at the party, Kara having told Callie after a meeting of Women of Waverly. Angered, Brett seeks revenge.
Dean Marymount finds out about the fire in the barn and plans to expel whoever was responsible. Tinsley and Callie seize this moment as chance to frame Jenny.
