Format

On April 30, online registration for teams was opened, which lasted until May 9, 2020. In this first edition of the online team world championship in Carcassonne, those countries or regions in which the game was published in the official language and represents one team could participate. The players of these teams were required to have or create a profile on the online platform www.boardgamearena.com where the competition took place.[4][5]

The championship was held in two stages: group matches and the knockout phase. 21 teams for each of the matches had to put up 5 players, who in turn had to play one duel of two games or three games if the first two games led to a draw.
