Ziarat, North Khorasan

Ziarat (Persian: زيارت, also Romanized as Zīārat, Zeyārat, and Zīyārat)[3] is a city in the Central District of Shirvan County, North Khorasan province, Iran.

At the 2006 census, its population was 4,202 in 1,013 households, when it was a village in Ziarat Rural District.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 4,650 people in 1,262 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,179 people in 1,254 households,[2] by which time the village had been elevated to the status of a city.[6]
