A 1 de junio de 2020, hay 4158 planetas detectados en 3081 sistemas, de los cuales 671 sistemas tienen más de un planeta.[1] Cerca de 280 tienen dos planetas, pero otras tienen un número significativamente mayor. La estrella con más planetas confirmados es el Sol con 8 (sin contar los planetas enanos), mientras que las estrellas con más exoplanetas confirmados son Kepler-90 y HD 10180 con 7 cada una; en 2012, otros dos planetas fueron sugeridos como candidatos para HD 10180, que podría tener un total de 9 en su sistema.
La siguiente lista muestra aquellos sistemas con 2 planetas o más orbitando, y está establecida de acuerdo al orden de distancia desde la Tierra. Gliese 876, con 4 planetas confirmados, es el sistema multiplanetario más cercano a 15 años luz. Un total de 12 sistemas conocidos se encuentran en un radio de 50 años luz. El sistema multiplanetario más alejado es OGLE-2012-BLG-0026L, a unos 13.300 años luz.
