Alors que l'acteur canadien Jim Carrey officie comme narrateur, l'album contient des collaborations avec Tyler, The Creator et Lil Wayne. The Weeknd produit l'album avec notamment Max Martin, la Swedish House Mafia et Oneohtrix Point Never.

Dawn FM est présenté comme une suite du précédent album studio de l'artiste, After Hours (2020)[1]. Ces deux albums seront interprétés dans la tournée mondiale After Hours til Dawn Stadium Tour.

Singles

Le premier single extrait de l'album, Take My Breath, est dévoilé le [2]. Le titre se classe notamment à la 6e place du Billboard Hot 100 et dans le Top 10 dans une vingtaine de pays[3]. Le clip est dévoilé en même temps[4].

Sacrifice, deuxième single de l'album, est envoyé sur les radios françaises, le 7 janvier 2022[5] et sur les radios américaines, le 11 janvier 2022[6].

Pochettes

La pochette standard de Dawn FM montre The Weeknd âgé, symbolisant le thème de l'album qui est la rédemption et l'abandon des regrets[7]. Des éditions collector limitées proposent quatre pochettes alternatives créées par Robert Beatty[8].
