Type locality: Specimen 095, collected on 02 June 2018 in APEI-4 during ROV dive LK-091 (core 11), event ID KM1808-47; latitude 6.9878737, longitude −149.9125, water depth 4999.5 m.

Etymology: from Ancient Greek σφαιρικός (sphairikós, sphericus, spherical).
