Diagnosis: Similis Bacidinarum speciebus habitus, sed excipulo prosoplectenchymatico, asco Bacidiae typo atque paraphysarum apicibus non capitatis differt. A Bacidia rubella grege ascosporis parvioribus differt atque crystallis in excipulo nihil adsunt.
Type: SPAIN. BALEARS, Eivissa, Sant Joan de Labritja, Bala` fia, Zona Recreativa Can Pere Mosson, E 001° 28' 32.0", N 39° 01' 59.7", ca. 200 m, Pistacia lentiscus; 16 September 2005, Llop (BCN 14915: holotype; BG L-81940: isotype).
Distribution: Bacidia punica is known from the Mediterranean area, and Romania.
