Caecieleotris morrisi Walsh & Chakrabarty, 2016

Type locality: Mexico, Oaxaca State, submerged cave at the bottom of Presa Miguel Alemán reservoir , appr. 18°11'22.58" N, 96°36'56.02" W.

Etymology: The specific epithet is a patronym to honor the good friend and colleague of the authors, Thomas L. Morris, discoverer and collector of this species, renowned cave diver and speleobiologist, intrepid explorer, and respected conservationist devoted to the protection of karst habitats and their associated biotas.
