Cipactlichthys scutatus Brito & Alvarado-Ortega, 2013

  • Holotype: IGM 6605, almost complete specimen, displaying its right side.
  • Horizon and type-locality: The specimens come from outcrops of the Tlayua Formation near the town of Tepexi de Rodríguez, State of Puebla, Mexico.

Etymology: The specific epithet scutatus, in Latin, refers to the shield formed by the large dorsal and ventral scutes.
