- Type locality: Kure Beach, Fort Fisher, New Hanover Co., North Carolina.
- Holotype: (female specimen) Max H. Hommersand; 28 November 1981; Attached to a coquina-type limestone reef and partly buried in sand. US US 204321. Isotype: (female) NCU.
