  • Type locality: Hancock Station 970, Isla María Magdalena, Islas Tres Marías, Mexico. Dredged from a bottom of coralline and other algae.
  • Holotype: W.R. Taylor #39-644, 1939-05-09; (tetrasporic). Herb. A. Hancock Foundation.
