Type: U.S.A. California: San Luis Obispo Co., just E of Osos, tall Chaparral on sandy soil on very gentle ridge, on shrubs (Ceanothus), 35.3051oN, 120.8144oW, 34 m, Mar 2007, McCune 28589 (osc, holotype).
Ecology and substrate: In coastal scrub and woodlands on the California coast and the Channel Islands.
