Paracheilinus xanthocirritus Allen et al., 2016

Holotype: MZB 22246.
Paratypes: BPBM 41210 (2, 1); MZB 22247 (2, 1); USNM 432464 (1, 0); WAM 33128-006 (2, 0), 33736-001 (2, 0).

Type locality: Selai Island, 03°10.865’ N, 106°29.615’ E, Anambas Islands, Indonesia, 15–16 m depth.

Etymology: The species is named xanthocirritus (Latin: yellow-thread), with reference to the diagnostic yellow, thread-like filaments of the dorsal fin of TP males.
