Name

Holotype: MTD 32808. Paratypes: MTD 32809 – 32813 (5).

Type locality: Indonesia, Sumatra, province of Riau, Langgam (about 40 km south-east of Pekanbaru), approx. 0°11′N, 101°38′E.

Etymology: The species name is derived from the Greek words phoinix (= crimson) and oura (= tail), and is an allusion to the colour pattern of the caudal fin.
