- Typus: G.H.K. Thwaites C.P. 3924 ([May 1866]; holotypus: K [cf. K000031495(JSTOR), 'unknown type material']).
- Note: the number given in the protologue was '3934', but it is presumably an typographical error (vide Rout & Deb 1999: 95).
- Type locality: Ceylon[Sri Lanka]. [Central Province.]
