Species: Piper dominantinervium

Name

Piper dominantinervium Chaveer. & Mokkamul is a synonym of Piper polycarpa Ridl.

Note: Comparison of materials of P. polycarpa at SING (Singapore Herbarium) and the holotype of P. dominantinervium shows that they are conspecific (Suwanphakdee and Chantaranothai, 2008). Therefore, P. dominantinervium named by Chaveerach et al. (2006) is considered to be the synonym of P. polycarpa. According to the priority rule of ICBN (see Simpson, 2006), P. dominantinervium should be rejected as it is a illiegimate name (contary to the rule of ICBN) and P. polycarpa is the valid name.
