- Iltis and Cornejo (2010:127) treat both De Candolle and Sessé & Mociño's names as homotypic, citing McVaugh (2000; Bot. Results Sessé Moc. Exped. 7 :116) for the location, but without citing a holotype. If these are indeed homotypic, then the type of Sessé & Mociño's name as given by Nelson Sutherland (1997; An. Jard. Bot. Madr. 55 :387-8) is the correct one.
