Typus: M. Ramos sub Bur. Sci. 40794 (20 April 1922, [female]; holotypus: PNH, destroyed; lectotypus: P [[http://coldb.mnhn.fr/catalognumber/mnhn/p/p03906974 P03906974]], designated by Chavez, Alejandro & Meve 2017: 146; isolectotypi: A 00969803^(JSTOR), K [[http://specimens.kew.org/herbarium/K000763548 K000763548]^(JSTOR)]).
- Note: Darwin (1994: 61) stated that an isotype was deposited in A, but A 00312918^(JSTOR) is a collection made by Yoshio KONDO (in Ticao Island, Masbate, 31 March 1957, during the Philippine-Hawaii Expedition) and thus cannot serve as lectotype.
Type locality: Philippines. Luzon, Rizal Province: Mount Angilog, on forested slopes, altitude about 1,200 meters.
