- The genus Tydulosus was erected by Baker (1965: 103) for species with a basket-weave pattern.
- It comprised up to 4 species and was synonymized with Tydeus by André (1980: 154)
- Three species, dumosus, granulosus and visendus, are included in the genus Brachytydeus by Silva et al. (2016), lolitae is included in the genus Tydeus.
