λόγχη
Ancient Greek
Etymology
Possibly from Proto-Indo-European *pleh₂k- (“to hit”), like Latin lancea (“lance”) and Old Armenian գեղարդն (gełardn, “spear”), but Beekes leaves the etymology unexplained.
