From Proto-Turkic *bajtaq (“quite a lot; ample”) (see cognates below), consisting of *bāj (“rich; numerous”) + affix -taq/-teg for similarity/analogy.
Cognate with Kazakh байтақ (baytaq, “vast, ample”), Kyrgyz байтак (baytak, “faraway”), Yakut баайдаах (baaydaax, “rich”).
