Etymology
From Common Kypchak *uzaq "long in time" (compare Old Turkic uzaq (uzaq, “long in time”)), from Proto-Turkic *uŕa-k (“long”).
Cognate with Kazakh ұзақ (uzaq), Kyrgyz узак (uzak, “long in time”); Uzbek uzoq (“long in time; far”), Uyghur ئۇزاق (uzaq, “long in time; far”), etc.
