երախան

Old Armenian

Etymology

The origin is uncertain.[1] Probably borrowed from an unidentified Iranian source.[2] Olsen proposes a derivation from the Iranian etymon of երախ (erax, mouth) with the Middle Iranian plural -ān, whence -ան (-an), thus "mouths".[3]
