թափօր
Old Armenian
Alternative forms
- թափոր (tʿapʿor)
Etymology
The origin is uncertain. Perhaps from թափ (tʿapʿ): compare especially թափառիմ (tʿapʿaṙim, “to wander, roam”) from that root. Others compare to Ottoman Turkish طابور (tabur).
